Home learning shared on 18.5.2020

Dear Year 4,

We hope that you are all well and continuing to stay safe and at home during this difficult time.

This weeks’ home learning is based around the Amazing Aztecs. As per last week, we have created a ‘no need to print’ work pack with lots of exciting things to do for Spelling, Writing, Maths, Theme and Reading. As before, these are all tasks you can do on your own. They are simple and should not take you very long. We have also included an Amazing Aztecs comprehension too.

As ever, please keep us updated with your amazing work. We are enjoying seeing your emails every day with what you have been up to and how you are getting on and remember we are here to answer your questions so email us as much as you need!

Arabian nights!

This term our theme is called 'Arabian Nights' and we are super excited to be putting on a production of Aladdin at the end of the Spring term!

We have been receiving challenges from Jessica Purvis (drama teacher at Gloucester College) to help us prepare for our final production. Some of our challenges so far have been to learn the story line, write about characters, learn about the city of Agrabah (which is linked to the city of Baghdad), create some Indian art work and deliver a banquet fit for an Indian wedding!

We worked incredibly hard chopping and cooking for our indian banquet, our parent/carer visitors really enjoyed eating it.

Year 4 had great fun this morning at their Science workshop testing special effects for their Aladdin show!

Coney Grylls! Autumn term 2019.

This term in Year 4 our theme is called Survival School and we are being sent challenges from Coney Grylls who works for Bear Grylls. The missions cover a wide variety of curriculum aims in order to help the children gain the skills they need in order to survive one night away from their parents at the Wilderness before Christmas.

So far we have covered topics on: team building, nature art, fitness and health and map work with orienteering.

The children are working hard to produce many useful texts in Literacy including: A team booklet, a forest NCR, a survival guide, instructions on how to make a healthy meal, story writing and much more.
