Crime and Punishment Through the Ages

This term, our theme is history with a focus on "Crime and Punishment Through the Ages." We will journey through key periods of British history – from Roman Britain to World War II – exploring how crime, justice, and punishment have evolved over time. Children will deepen their historical thinking by using timelines, comparing historical sources, and analysing the social and political contexts behind changes in law and order. Through lively discussions and thoughtful investigations, we will consider how crime and punishment were shaped by the values and structures of each society. Children will also reflect on how these developments influence our modern justice system today.
